A woman is recovering after a Gaylesville man is accused of striking her with his car in the Ringgold community. 30-year-old Rondal Ragan is charged with First Degree Assault and Leaving the Scene of An Accident. An 18-year-old woman was walking along County Road 41 and was struck by Ragan just before midnight on Wednesday. Deputies responded to the scene to find Ragan had fled. Cherokee EMS and the Broomtown Fire Department responded quickly and treated the injured victim. The woman was airlifted to a Chattanooga hospital. According to witnesses, Ragan was traveling at an extremely high rate of speed and was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. Ragan remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center on $17,500 bond.
