Chemical Endangerment of a Child
An Attalla woman is in jail on charges that she took drugs while pregnant. 31-year-old Krystle Lemley was arrested for chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed.
Investigators say Lemley admitted to illegally using Suboxone while pregnant. Her newborn baby tested positive for the same drug and had an extended hospital stay while going through Suboxone withdrawal. She is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $10,000 bond. Upon release, Lemley will be supervised by Etowah County Community Corrections and must successfully complete a treatment program.
