School District Employee of the Month

The Calhoun County School District Employee of the Month is someone many of her peers call a “true leader.” Susan Maxwell is the Central Office accountant. She started filling in for a bookkeeper on a leave of absence. That position turned into a full-time position at Alexandria High School for 14 years. She came to the Central office in 2011. Calhoun County Board of Education Chief School Finance Officer Tina Parris says she was one of the people who nominated Maxwell. She’s known her for 19 years and says she is in an important position and is a true professional in all her work. Maxwell says she sees her job as an important one because she works closely with the Chief School Finance Officer, federal programs, the budget, requisitions, and Title I Schools. She says she especially enjoys working with the Title I Schools. Calhoun County Board of Education Payroll Bookeeper Kim Samples says she’s known Maxwell for 2-and-a-half years. She says you can go to her with any question and she will have an appropriate answer for you. She adds that Maxwell knows something about everything that is going on. Maxwell says she enjoys the people she works with. She says they work well together. Which is why she was surprised that she was selected as Employee of the Month. Maxwell has been with the Calhoun County School District since 1997.
