The city of Anniston hosts a dedication ceremony for The Michael Tucker Park Primitive Campground. The city is taking the park to the next level by providing new campgrounds. Each campsite will have accommodations for 4 tents. The new addition includes water hook-ups, electricity, fire pits and more. The park was named in memory of Dr. Michael Tucker, a noted Anniston physician and long-time bicycle enthusiast. The park is nestled within a pecan grove. Dr. Tucker’s son and namesake says he appreciates the dedication ceremony. Anniston’s Michael Tucker Park currently serves as the southern boundary of the Chief Ladiga Trail. The city has plans to extend the Chief Ladiga Trail 7.2 miles into the Anniston Amtrak Station.
