Lee Ozmint To Oxford

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

Oxford High School has hired former Glencoe head coach Lee Ozmint as the team's new defensive coordinator. Ozmint announced his resignation as Glencoe head coach on Monday and says he is excited about he new challenge in Class 6A. TV24 Sports spoke with Ozmint on Monday about the big move and you can hear his comments in the featured video.

Ozmint led Glencoe to some of it’s best years in school history on the gridiron. In his 10 seasons at the helm, the Yellow Jackets won 77 games and made seven consecutive appearances in the playoffs. In 2014 Glencoe won the Class 3A Region 6 championship, finished the season 13-1, and came up just three points shy of the Super 7 (their only loss coming to eventual state champion Madison Academy 31-28).  Oxford head coach Ryan Herring says it’s great to have someone of Ozmint stature join the program.

The big addition to the staff at Oxford means now Glencoe begins its search for a head coach. TV24 will keep you posted as the process develops.
