National Technical Honor Society Induction Ceremony


The Calhoun County Career Academy’s chapter of the National Technical Honor Society holds its first induction ceremony in Jacksonville. All eight schools in the Calhoun County School District were represented. Officials say local schools and colleges have established a National Technical Honor Society chapter on their campus because the society encourages higher scholastic achievement and cultivates excellence in tomorrow's workforce.Student members say NTHS brings recognition, scholarship opportunities, and career opportunities. They say it is for students who excel in one of the 108 career and technical educational fields. Participants add that the academy has helped them prepare for their future and the process of today’s induction was challenging. They had three inductions for the eleventh and twelfth graders and 51 students were inducted today. The National Technical Honor Society currently serves more three quarters of a million since its inception in 1984.
