Calhoun County Commission Discuss a $200,000 Grant

The Calhoun County Commission considers a new resolution for a Land and Water Conservation Funding Grant at its regularly scheduled publicly held commission meeting. According to Calhoun County’s Paralegal and Grant Manager Gloria Floyd who attended the meeting, the resolution is for funding of a $200,000 project. The project will add to the infrastructure of the Calhoun County Sports Complex – also known as the old Woodland Park. If awarded, the project will include a walking trail and a covered batting cage and the addition of outdoor lighting around the existing walking trail, a pavilion, playground equipment and possibly a bathroom facility with handicap accessibility at Chief Ladiga Landing. The funding for the total project includes a 50-percent match.
