Man Airlifted from Paseur Park

A man falls from the rocks outside the safety wall at Paseur Park. The man was then airlifted to UAB Hospital with multiple injuries, including head injuries. Gadsden Assistant Fire Chief Jim Matlock says two men were at the park Wednesday afternoon and had gone over the safety wall when one of them fell. He estimated the fall to be between 30 and 40 feet. Gadsden Fire Chief Stephen Carrol says rescuers had to climb up treacherous terrain to get the man. They used rope to get the basket carrying him down to the street and into an ambulance, which rushed him to the parking lot at the Mort Glosser Amphitheatre, where a helicopter flew him out.
