DeKalb County Deputies go to a home in DeKalb County to conduct a welfare check on a child and find a marijuana plant growing operation after knocking on the door. Authorities arrested 37-year-old Edward Sawicki of Albertville for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a short barrel rifle-shotgun and possession of altered firearm identification. Deputies found 13 fully grown marijuana plants with a street value of $26,000. DHR removed the two children from the home. The DeKalb County Drug and Major Crimes Task Force, DeKalb County sheriff’s deputies, Crossville police officers and DeKalb County DHR all responded to the home.
