Charges Dismissed for Local Principal

Today, a Calhoun County District Court judge dismissed an assault charge against a former elementary school principal. Julie Hood served as the principal of Ohatchee Elementary School for three years. Last fall, the county transferred her to the alternative school after allegations surfaced that Hood hit someone in the face at the school. According to her attorney, the state found no burden of proof in the criminal case. The judge agreed and dropped the assault charge.
