Moundville Man Charged With Trafficking

A Moundville man is caught in numerous lies and with drugs in his car after Heflin Police pulls him over for a traffic violation. Heflin Police Department Chief A-J Benefield says Earlethus Blackmon is charged with drug trafficking. Blackmon was originally stopped following a traffic violation on the 199 mile marker of Interstate 20 westbound. Benefield says during the traffic stop Blackmon appeared nervous and told lies during questioning. The Heflin Police called the K-9 Unit in to investigate. The unit found three heat-vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana. Police arrested Blackmon Sunday evening after authorities found the 3.5 pounds of marijuana in his car. Blackmon has a $1-million bond and is being held in the Cleburne County Jail.
