Calhoun County Schools Employee of the Month

The Calhoun County School System and America’s First Federal Credit Union honor Weaver High School science teacher Lisa Hood with their January Employee of the Month award. Hood excels at embodying the school’s standard for excellence, innovation, and work involvement. She is not only the seventh and eighth grade science teacher, she is the middle school robotics teacher, the varsity cheerleading coach, and the prom sponsor. Hood says she is more than just a teacher. Hood says there is nothing quite like being recognized for outstanding performance at work. She says she was very surprised by the award and just couldn’t believe it. Weaver High School principal Michael Allison says his school is fortunate to have Hood at the school. He says she is a reliable teacher, and she demonstrates the school district’s values every day. Calhoun County Schools officials say they reward those employees who show exemplary individual achievement, contribution, and performance in their jobs and other related duties beyond their own position. Business Education teacher Cassie Talley says Hood goes above and beyond – making science a joy and fun. Co-workers acknowledge the efforts of Hood that have inspired and supported the performance and achievement of others. Weaver High School History teacher Andy Fulmer says she is very helpful and a great educator. Hood was presented a certificate from the Calhoun County Board of Education acknowledging her dedication to the school system. She was also given a $200 gift card from America’s First Federal Credit Union.
