The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office responds to a domestic disturbance call with a suspect who engages in a stand-off with a deputy. Chief Deputy Matthew Wade says the deputy arrived at the 16-thousand block of Highway 9 in Piedmont to find 41-year-old Timothy Doss. Wade says the domestic altercation was between Doss and his parents. When the Deputy arrived, he walked around the home to find Doss around back with a rifle pointed at him. The Deputy then drew his weapon. For the next twenty to thirty minutes the Deputy tried to convince Doss to drop his weapon. According to Calhoun County Sheriff Larry Amerson, Doss is charged with Second Degree Assault of a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Menacing Domestic Violence, and Promoting Prison Contraband. Wade says they are trying to get a federal charge filed. Doss was a felon in possession of a firearm.
