One Accused of Possession of a Forged Instrument


An Attalla woman is accused of passing a counterfeit check. According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, 24-year-old Courtney Bell has been arrested for possession of a forged instrument. She is charged with one count of Third Degree Possession of a Forged Instrument – a felony. Bell is believed to have passed a counterfeit check while buying a $500 automobile from the victim. The victim stated the false check was refused by the bank when trying to deposit the money. Bell is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $1,500 bond.
