President Orders Lowering of Flags for Justice Scalia

Wednesday, February 17, 2016

Flags are lowered in East Alabama and all across the nation, at the request of the president in memory of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Justice Scalia’s body arrived in Virginia overnight in rest in the Supreme Court. Flags should remain lowered until sunset on the day of internment. President Barack Obama held a conference earlier today and says he vows to make a nomination into Justice Scalia’s successor; Republicans warned he would not get a vote on his eventual nominee.
