JSU Investigates Information Security


Jacksonville State University is investigating a website containing personal information of students, including phone numbers, addresses, birthdates and ID photos. According to university officials, the matter is being investigated internally as well as by state and federal law enforcement agencies. Vice President for Information Technology Vinson Houston says the university places high priority on JSU's internet security and protection of student data, and will do what is necessary to address this issue. Officials add that Information Technology personnel will be available to render assistance as needed.
