The Calhoun County Beautification Board says trees make a world of difference. Today, they celebrated the county’s Arbor Day with an opportunity to make a difference in our community. They had a tree giveaway at Anniston’s Norwood Hodges Community Center funded by the Calhoun County Commission. Calhoun County Beautification Board President Belinda York and member Truman Norred say today’s activities may only be one step, but, together, people can green up communities, replant forests across the country, save the rain forest, and make an impact on our planet with trees. The next project for the board is the Beautification Board Awards this Summer, where they select residential and commercial properties as the most beautiful in the Calhoun County district.
