The Anniston Berman Museum of World History welcomed local cartoon enthusiasts for a session on examining and enjoying eight decades of cartoon in the New Yorker magazine. The session’s guest speaker was George Tilbury of the University of Alabama Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Program Coordinator Lois Strachan says today’s presentation is part of its new academic cooperative which provides mature adults with opportunities for intellectual stimulation, cultural development, and social interaction. OLLI at University of Alabama educational programs are centered on courses developed by and often taught by its members, who volunteer their time and talents to share their knowledge and interests with other members. Strachan says you’ll find learning for the pure joy of learning.
