JSU Providing Training to Small Law Agencies

Thursday, March 3, 2016

A partnership between the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs and Jacksonville State University’s Center for Applied Forensics is providing valuable training and tools for smaller law enforcement agencies across Alabama. A grant for more than $35,000 was awarded by Governor Robert Bentley and administered by ADECA’s Law Enforcement and Traffic Safety Division. It is helping the center to fund the training and provide evidence collection kits at no-cost to participating law enforcement agencies. Officers from 14 law enforcement agencies recently attended the first training session in Anniston. The next session will be at Jacksonville State’s Little River Canyon Center in Ft. Payne on a date to be announced soon. As dates and locations are set, they will be posted under the training tab at www.jsu.edu/forensics.
