One Charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine

A Georgia man has been arrested in Gadsden in connection with drug trafficking. According to the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit, 44-year-old Casey Kerr of Cedartown, Georgia has been charged with trafficking in methamphetamine. While on patrol during the early hours of Tuesday, a Gadsden Police Officer noticed a man asleep in a red Mercury Mountaineer located in the parking lot of the Gadsden Inn and Suites. During further investigation, approximately 32 grams of methamphetamine was located in Kerr's pants pocket. Also, numerous paraphernalia items were found in the vehicle such as digital scales, baggies, and glass pipes. At the time of his arrest, Kerr was wearing an ankle monitor related to being on probation out of Georgia for receiving stolen property. Kerr was arrested and transported to the Etowah County Detention Center. He remains there under a fifty thousand dollar cash bond. Further charges may be pending.
