Leadership Etowah Talks Crisis Management

Wednesday, March 9, 2016

Leadership and tornado recovery: two important topics of discussion at the Leadership Etowah meeting. Leadership Etowah hosted Tuscaloosa Mayor Walter Maddox during their government day. Maddox talked about crisis management and crisis leadership. He lead the city of Tuscaloosa through the April 27, 2011 tornadoes - a very tumultuous time. Leadership Etowah committee members say they asked Maddox to speak because of his leadership of a city still in recovery. Committee member Ralph Burke says today, class members also discussed a mutual understanding of the priorities and problems facing Etowah County and also sought to invent vital solutions to the challenges that define the future of the county. Leadership Etowah is a program of The Chamber of Gadsden-Etowah which each year brings together a class of ten participants for ten one-day retreats. The program objective is to present to the participants a series of issues-oriented forums based on the belief that knowledge is a key element and prime motivator of leadership.
