Flood Plan Management


One county’s Floodwater Control Management plan includes informing its community members of the actions they can take to reduce flood damage and plan for flood risk. Calhoun County Highway Department Flood Plan Manager Jeff Clendenning says local flood plane hazard area workers are building relationships to strengthen their plans and take action to better protect the people of their community. Today the county took action by accepting a new ordinance. Clendenning says after March 16th FEMA will provide the latest digital data and flood maps. FEMA says information will also be available on community meeting dates, current proposed map changes and products delivered to the communities. Clendenning says after the sixteenth go to the FEMA webpage, put in your address, and see if you are in a special flood hazard area.
