Shooting at Fort Payne Wal-mart

A domestic-related shooting in the parking lot of a local Wal-Mart in Fort Payne. The Fort Payne Police Department says they responded to a 911 call last night. Officer’s arrived and found an armed man with gunshot wounds. The other person involved in the incident was also still at the scene. 33-year-old Charles Pope of Fort Payne was transported to DeKalb Regional Medical Center, for the gunshot wounds, and later air lifted to Erlanger Medical Center, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The other person was detained at the scene and transported to the Fort Payne Police Department where he cooperated fully with the investigation. No charges have been filed against him at this time. The case is still an ongoing investigation.
