Pregnant Inmate Escapes

A pregnant inmate escapes the custody of a Calhoun County Correctional Officer during a doctor’s visit in Anniston. According to Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Matthew Wade, 24-year-old Alexandria Hamilton was being held in the Calhoun County Jail on charges of chemical endangerment of a child and drug distribution. Wade says Hamilton is 12 to 16 weeks pregnant. Wade says Hamilton now has an added charge of First Degree Escape.
