2015 Juliette P. Doster Award Winner

The Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama announces the winner of the 2015 Juliette P. Doster Award for Outstanding Volunteerism in Community Health. Pat Greene of Talladega is the winner. Greene was selected for his commitment to developing the Marianna Greene Henry Special Equestrian Program. The program promotes rehabilitation which brings special needs children from the Alabama Institute of the Deaf and Blind together with horses. Greene says the program maximizes the potential for their students’ well-being by providing activities in the areas of therapy, education, sport, and recreation. The award recognizes Greene’s personal commitment, overall impact and extraordinary service. Greene received a crystal clock recognizing the many hours of work along with a $1,000 grant from the Juliette P.Doster Fund with the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama to a not-for-profit of his choice. Greene selected the Marianna Greene Henry Special Equestrian Foundation. In addition, his name has been added to an historical plaque listing all past award winners on display in the Foundation Office.
