An Etowah County Non-Profit receives a special gift from one of East Alabama’s largest companies. Associates from the Honda plant in Lincoln made a special trip to Gadsden today to deliver a special gift for the Etowah County Council on Aging. Honda volunteers presented the agency with a 2012 Honda Odyssey mini-van to use in their medical transport program. Council on Aging volunteers regularly help their clients get to important doctor visits when no other means of transportation is available. Honda’s Community Relations Manager, Stephanie Alexander, says that Honda has been donating one or two cars a year to East Alabama non-profits ever since the plant opened 15 years ago; and that giving back to the community is important to the company and its associates. Honda accepts applications for the car grants all throughout the year and the recipients are selected each spring.
