Four Arrested for Drug Trafficking
Four people have been arrested in the connection with the trafficking of drugs. These arrests stem from an ongoing investigation of the trafficking and importation of methamphetamine in the Etowah County area. The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit says, 19-year-old Shalimar Morales of Riverdale, Georgia, 21-year-old Uriel Guillen of Atlanta, Georgia, 19-year-old Carlos Sambrano of East Point, Georgia and a 17-year-old man from Georgia were arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit today, received information about drugs being transported to Gadsden from the Atlanta metro area in a certain automobile.Agents located the automobile at a shopping center parking lot in East Gadsden. Agents stopped the automobile and detained four people. Further investigation resulted in the seizure of 112 grams of methamphetamine along with the automobile. Also, a 12 month old child was in the back seat of the vehicle. DHR responded and took custody of the child. All four people are being held in the Etowah County Detention Center. Their bonds have been set at $50,000 cash each.
