Students at Sardis High School are mourning the loss of a classmate. Etowah County School Board officials say a 16-year-old girl died in a traffic accident this morning.  She ran off the road then over corrected, lost control, and hit a tree. The accident happened on Son Johnson Road in Sardis City. The teen was not wearing a seat belt. Authorities have not released the girl's name. Counselors, local pastors and personnel from the school board were at the school today to offer support to students and staff.
