Lee Ozmint Reflects On Kevin Turner's Life & Legacy
Former Alabama and NFL star Kevin Turner passed away Thursday at the age of 46 after a long battle with ALS. Turner was known as one of the toughest players to ever suit up at the Capstone. He played fullback at Alabama from 1988 - 1991 then played eight NFL seasons with the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles. Turner was diagnosed with ALS six years ago and became one of the most well known figures fighting for research and a cure. TV24 Sports caught up with Oxford High School defensive coordinator Lee Ozmint who played with Turner at Alabama.
Before passing away Turner arranged for his brain and spine to be donated for ALS research. Turner’s son Nolan signed to play for Dabo Swinney at Clemson in February. Swinney was also one of Turner’s former teammates at Alabama.
