Pursuit Ends in Arrests and Recovery of Stolen Vehicle

Two suspects steal an automobile and try to get away from authorities in a multi-agency pursuit. According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, 31-year-old Michael Sprayberry of Hokes Bluff and 23-year-old Justin Davis of Centre attempted to get away from authorities in the Ball Play area, but were quickly captured while ono foot. Yesterday, authorities received a call about a stolen automobile. Authorities later spotted the automobile on County Road 59 and attempted to stop the car. The suspects refused to stop and a pursuit began. After capture, Sprayberry and Davis were taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center and charged with first degree theft of property. Sprayberry was also charged with reckless endangerment, attempting to elude, and a host of traffic violations. Investigators later recovered the stolen car along Terrapin Creek, near the location where the pursuit began.
