Ricky “Dog” Higdon Wins an Award

DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Deputy Ricky “Dog” Higdon was awarded a Metal of Merit from the National Sheriff’s Association for his contribution to the community and to the field of Law enforcement and Criminal Justice. Ricky Higdon has been with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office for 9 years as the DeKalb County Detention Centers Chief Maintenance man, a Reserve Deputy, and a member of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Mounted Unit Program. Sheriff Jimmy Harris says Higdon goes above and beyond his duties that are expected of him and is always available to be called out with either the Reserve or Mounted unit.
