Rangers Perform Prescribed Burn

The Talladega Ranger District burned 2,400 acres today, 4 miles south of Munford. During today’s burn, you may have noticed Forest Service fire crews and equipment on Forest Service road 637. Smoke was also visible from Alabama Highways 21, and 281, county road 42 and the Munford area. The wind was out of the north and carried the smoke to the south near the Goodwater area. As the temperatures cooled, the smoke settled down drainage along Cheaha Creek, across county roads 385, 398 and Highway 21.
