Smoke On The Falls

The Noccalula Falls area of Gadsden will be filled with the smell of smoky barbecue and the sounds of great music this weekend as the City of Gadsden welcomes the annual Smoke on the Falls BBQ Festival. This year's BBQ festival will return to its popular two day format with Free Friday Night events – including a bluegrass concert from The Foggy Hollow Review. Saturday's events kick off with the Gadsden Regional Smoke Your Buns 5K Run and continue throughout the day as both professional and amateur BBQ cookers compete for cash and prizes. In addition to the BBQ competition, Saturday will also feature arts & crafts vendors, a fun play area for the kids and live music from the Shane Givens Band and Mother May I featuring Peanut and Rush. Tarrance adds a reminder that not all of the competitors will be giving out free samples of their BBQ, but that every paid admission will get a BBQ sandwich and there will be vendors selling BBQ as well. The Smoke on the Falls BBQ Festival is set for this Friday and Saturday in the campground at Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden.Friday night is free and runs from 4pm until 8pm. Gates will open on Saturday at 10am and the festival will run until the awards ceremony at 4pm. Saturday admission is $8 for adults, $5 for ages 4-12, and children 3 and under get in for free.
