On July 1, 2015, Dr. John M. Beehler assumed the presidency at Jacksonville State University, bringing with him more than 20 years of higher education leadership experience. Beehler says that experience has given him a unique insight into the needs of the university, including a different view into the look and feel of the President’s Home. Today, as Beehler and his wife, Dr. Pamela Beehler prepare for his inauguration on April 8th, they gave an advanced tour of the newly renovated President’s Home. Beehler says any changes to the home represent their understanding of the history, traditions, and culture of JSU. Following the time with the Beehlers at the President’s Home, the tour headed over to the Houston Cole Library for access to the top floor balcony and a peek at the special collections in the Alabama Room. During the tour, Beehler commented that the presidency will focus on enrollment, student success, and philanthropy. He says he is eager to help write the next chapter for JSU. He says the focus of the university will continue to be on the students and their preparation for life and profession. Jacksonville State University will inaugurate Dr. Beehler as its 12th president during an investiture ceremony on April 8, at 10 a.m., at Pete Mathews Coliseum. The theme for the event is “Transformative, Innovative and Engaged for Success: The T.I.E.S. that bind the university together.” TV24 will air the investiture ceremony on Friday at 10:00AM, and then again on Saturday at 9:00AM and then at 6:30PM, the final showing will be on Sunday at 3:00PM.
