Governor Sets Rules for Speech, Avoiding Impeachment Talk
Governor Robert Bentley made his first public appearance today since the impeachment process began against him, but he refused to discuss possible impeachment and a sex scandal. Instead, he focused on the budgetary issues.
A bipartisan group of Alabama lawmakers introduced articles of impeachment against Governor Bentley…The move comes amid scrutiny over a recording of a sexually explicit conversation said to be between Governor Bentley and his now former top aide, Rebekah Mason. The recordings were released after the governor fired Alabama’s top law enforcement investigator, who says he knew about the governor’s affair. Governor Bentley has vowed to fight impeachment.
