Jacksonville State University Presidential Investiture
A local university inaugurates its newest president. The presidential investiture of Jacksonville State University’s twelfth president – Dr. John M. Beehler took place at Pete Mathews Coliseum, today. The theme for the event was “Transformative, Innovative and Engaged for Success: The TIES that bind the university together.” Beehler was presented the Presidential Medallion. Officials say it is one of the most significant symbols of the university. Beehler assumed the presidency at JSU on July 1, 2015. He has more than 20 years of higher education leadership experience. He says he will apply his experience to the success of the JSU student body. Beehler is a certified public accountant and has significant experience in college and university accounting and auditing. He is a graduate of the Harvard Institutes of Higher Education Management Development Program and the American Academic Leadership Institute’s Executive Leadership Academy. Beehler earned a Bachelor of Science with highest distinction in the Accounting Honors Program from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA in finance and PHD in accounting and taxation from Indiana University.
