Gadsden Man Charged with Attempted Murder


According to the Gadsden Police Department Erick Ransom of Gadsden is charged with Attempted Murder. On Friday at 2:30AM Gadsden Police were dispatched to a burglary at a home on Martin Avenue. No one was at home at the time of the burglary. During the investigation, Ransom was identified through evidence recovered and was being sought for that burglary. On the same day at 1:00PM, Ransom, who was identified from the earlier burglary, returned to the victim’s home on Martin Avenue. The victim was at home and was shot by Ransom, multiple times. The victim was flown to a Birmingham area hospital for treatment. He is expected to recover from his injuries. Ransom is being held on a $50,000 cash bond, at the Etowah County Detention Center. Additional charges are expected.
