Target Raising Minimum Wage
According to the Washington Post, Target is raising the minimum wage for its workers to ten dollars an hour. The pay increase follows a similar move by Wal-Mart recently. It reflects an improving labor market and more competition among retailers for lower wage hourly workers that gained steam in 2015. That’s when Wal-Mart announced its plan to boost wages to nine dollars an hour, followed by an increase to ten dollars an hour in 2016.
