Couple Arrested in Connection with Burglary Spree

A New Jersey couple has been arrested in Cherokee County in connection to recent burglaries in the Cedar Bluff area. Sheriff Jeff Shaver says that deputies began looking for Steven Franks and Necole Wood on April 15th after a report of two burglaries on County Road 194. Witnesses told investigators that they saw the couple run out of a house and gave chase until deputies and officers arrived. The couple escaped into a wooded area that night, but were arrested two days later after a local resident reported seeing the couple. Shaver says that the couple's arrest led to the discovery of three more robberies and the recovery of a significant amount of stolen property. Both suspects are being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center on five counts of third degree burglary and three counts of second degree theft of property.
