Raising the Payouts on Bingo Games
A local city talks about the possibility of raising the payouts on bingo games. The Anniston City Council talked about the possible money maker on Monday. Ward 1 City Councilman Jay Jenkins says the first thing that would have to happen in order for the city to allow that kind of payout would be a modification of the bingo ordinance within the city. According to Ward 2 City Councilman David Reddick the city would be taking advantage of the same law Piedmont’s mayor and City Council would be using. The state law passed in March will increase possible paper bingo payout in Calhoun County from a maximum of only $120,000 each week to $1-million.
