Grants To Cut Energy Costs

Governor Robert Bentley awards grants to three local agencies to help low-income residents cut energy costs. Governor Bentley awarded the grants to the Community Action Agency and 13 other community agencies across the state that manage at the local level and receive applications from individuals who wish to be considered for assistance. More than $25,000 was given to Community Action of Etowah County, more than $69,000 was given to the Community Action Agency of Northeast Alabama Inc. which serves Dekalb and St.Clair Counties along with four other counties, and more than $60,000 was given to the Community Action Agency of Talladega which serves Talladega, Calhoun, Cleburne, and two more counties.
