Members of the local community unite in prayer to express support for police officers and their families. The gathering took place by the flag poles at the Oxford Police Department. Trinity Baptist Church Pastor C.O. Grinstead was one of four Pastors praying for our law enforcement officers. He says this pro-police prayer rally lets local law enforcement officers know that the community supports them. He adds people want law enforcement to know that they hold them up in prayer and thank God for the service they offer to our community. Oxford Police Chief Bill Partridge says the goal of the prayer rally is to give support of the thin blue line and show proper respect to our law enforcement officers. The prayer rally kicks off National Police Week that is coming up in couple of weeks. National Police Appreciation Week will take place next week in Calhoun County. A dedication of the Law Enforcement Memorial will take place next Friday at noon at the Centennial Park in Anniston.
