Once a month the Calhoun County School District recognizes outstanding professional and support staff employees who embody the school systems standards for excellence and innovation. The Calhoun County School District Employee of the Month Award is for those employees who show exemplary individual achievement, contribution, and performance in their jobs and other related duties beyond their own offices. This month, 17-year Alexandria Elementary veteran second grade teacher Jamie Brown is the Employee of the Month. Brown says she is shocked and honored. She says there are many things about teaching that are great, but today, she shares the best thing about teaching with us. Principal Kim Mueller says it is a pleasure to acknowledge Brown, because her efforts have inspired and supported the performance and achievement of others. Mueller adds Brown has a positive attitude toward work responsibilities, co-workers, and students, and serves as a role model for others. Co-worker Angela Smith says Brown has great commitment to quality in carrying out job responsibilities, and is an advantage to the Calhoun County School District. Smith says Brown deserves it. Principal Mueller nominated Brown.
