Warmer temperatures typically mean more people are heading to local waterways. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Memorial Day is the unofficial start of our boating season. And with the holiday upon us, they are pushing boating safety as many of you prepare to hit the water. The agency says they continue to see a failure to wear a life preserver as needed and an inappropriate use of alcohol. Troopers also say it's important to check all safety equipment before leaving shore and pay close attention to your surroundings at all times. And, don't forget to check your boat's registration… Make sure it's up to date before you hit the water.
