Portable Meth Lab Leads to Two Arrests

A man and a woman from Sylacauga find themselves in the Calhoun County Jail after getting arrested for transporting a portable meth lab inside of their car. According to Oxford Police Captain L.G. Owens, Bobby Chapman and Stephanie Chapman are charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, second degree marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Owens said police stopped the couple's car for an improper lane change and for nearly striking another vehicle. The department's K9 unit was called in and found the drug making materials inside the car, along with some marijuana. Bobby Chapman is being held on $311,000 bond, while Stephanie Chapman is being held on $308,000 bond.
