A local elementary school and high school known for having the earliest start times in Calhoun County are making some changes. Weaver Elementary School and Weaver High School have compromised and partnered for a positive change. The change is to help students have fewer tardy days and improve overall student achievement. The new school year will bring later start times for both schools. Weaver High School Principal Michael Allison says the change in the start times is a win-win for both schools.Weaver Elementary School Principal Summer Davis says the high school students will get on the buses after the elementary school students arrive at the school and will not have to get on the buses so early.Allison says high school students will be able to enter the school building by 7:30AM. And high school car riders will be considered tardy at 8:00AM.
