The Anniston school board approved the recommendation to hire Torry Brown as the Bulldogs next head boys basketball coach.

Brown comes to Anniston after serving as the head coach at Shelby County High School. The 37 year old is an Anniston graduate and he played point guard for the Bulldogs under former coach Bernard Howard. Under Brown’s leadership Shelby County won 94 games in five seasons. The Wildcats also captured two area titles and a pair of appearances in the regionals.

He takes over for legendary coach Schuessler Ware who won a pair of state championships in his 19-year reign as the Bulldog head coach.
