Closing Arguments Begin in Ethics Trial

Friday, June 10, 2016

Closing arguments continue tomorrow in the ethics trial for the Alabama House Speaker. Mike Hubbard faces 23 charges- accusing him of using his public office for personal gain. After Hubbard's defense team rested their case today- closing arguments began. The Prosecution said that Hubbard obtained some jobs solely because he was speaker and he used the power of his office to benefit clients. The defense argued that Hubbard did not break the law, and prosecutors presented nothing that proves he did. Lawyers get another two hours tomorrow to try and influence the jury's verdict.
