From more jobs to more money for Jacksonville State University’s College of Nursing. The Nursing Department has been awarded a 38,000 dollar grant by the Stringfellow Health Fund of the Community Foundation of Northeast Alabama. The funds will be used to purchase a pediatric simulator for the university’s new simulation center. Nursing Program Director Windon Edge says simulation centers have become an integral component to nursing education. The college of Nursing’s goal is to prepare students to provide exemplary nursing care to all individuals and families, but Director Edge says, students can expect - on average - to work with a higher pediatric population. With two bachelor’s and three master’s degree options, the JSU College of Nursing delivers evidence based teaching and learning programs that deliver quality nurses prepared to engage within the global health care environment.
