A local hospital foundation announces the overwhelming success of a recent fundraiser. The RMC Foundation raised more than 100-thousand dollars through its inaugural Martha Vandervoort Garden Jubilee. The effort far surpassed the group's goal of 60-thousand dollars. The purpose of the fundraiser is to award an annual, four-year renewable college scholarship to a graduating senior from Calhoun County. Due to the success of the event, the decision was made to give two scholarships this year. A full scholarship was awarded to Baylee Matthew, a Senior from Oxford High School who plans to attend Auburn University; and a partial scholarship was awarded to Emily Robertson of Oxford High School who will be attending JSU. The recipients were chosen through an application and interview process. The RMC Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to enhancing community services through education and financial assistance.
